u guys wun believe this... xiao hui told me that she misses me - for no apparent reason. hahas now thats something new. well...she promised me she'll tag to comfirm that i'm not bullshitting. hopefully she do so soon before everyone starts thinking that i must be missing her too much to start day-dreaming myself.
reading a very weird book now... it's called "a matter of life and death" by nicholas chong. this book tries to understand religion and spirits in a totally different light. if u belong to any religion and are very easily offended and sensitive to such issues, the book itself suggests that u dun read it. it's kinda controversial... i was kinda taken aback when i read it at first, but well...it does feed the hungry mind.
"... it was however after 3000 BC when humankind became "civilised" that the grestest changes were effected to the spirit world. The souls of returning kings frmo the cradles of human civilisation demanded nothing less than Godship and insisted on the same level of anthropolatry (man-worship) that they were accustomed to receive from their subjects on Earth. This was the time when the Gods desired a simple Covenant from Man : "our protection in the Hereafter in return for ur worship on Earth" and decided to appoint "prophets" amongst the living to relay their message to mankind. Men made "religions" out of this simple Covenant, turned the laws of Man into the Laws of God, turned the Gods into what man considered Gods should be and so on, in all, giving the Gods far more than they could "chew" and indeed far more than they had asked for..."
this is one of the paragraphs that left me thinking for a long while.
