bizarre love triangle

throughout the past two weeks, i've had numerous ideas for blog posts! the kind that makes u go "i so must blog about this!", subsequently throw in a bit of ivan's THING, and tada! another of ivan's signature blogpost. BUT. i keep forgetting what they are and my blog is left wanting.

today i shall talk about my mum's really disturbing, perturbable new hobby - Crystals. i am eternally amazed by my mum's rubbish. so since a few weeks ago, my mum started liking Crystals - of all things. and she's buying them in shitloads. i always thought crystals are quite expensive, are they not??? so she's either having a really dumb and costly hobby or she could be buying useless stones or glasses that she THINKS are crystals. =X

she buys them in all shapes and sizes! animals.. pencil-shaped... and some that look like corals. (but some of them are really quite shiny - the rest are not) so yesterday she came home with this really BIG and RED thing that she claims is some crystal as well. (wth) she said she got it from some second hand shop, so its not really very expensive. then comes the shock. she started taking out all the other crystals and putting them beside this red BIG one. then she puts them near the window. i went to touch the BIG red one and she immediately shouted "dun touch! using yr bare hands will cause the crystal to lose its "power", den needa charge it again"

(what the fuck)

"crystals are very special things. they are almost spiritual. they need to absorb the moonlight to make it shine better"

(what the fuck)

"crystals lose their power when u touch it with your bare hands, needa use a cloth or gloves"

*er?*

"i am putting the other crystals near the big one because they can "inter-charge". it'll make the rest more shiny and have more "power". thats why i bought the BIG red one"

(WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKK!!?!!?!!!!!!?!!!!!!)

i almost wanted to tell her its got to do with the way the crystals are cut and the shine is due to the critical angles of light and how if calculated properly they can trap the light within the stone and make light rebound within the stone for more times and hence making it more "colorful"! but nevermind. i said to her...

"its not fullmoon tonight. 13 more days. mid autumn, full power!"

she looked at me,
"you think i don't know that? its general knowledge. i'm not dumb."
