of porridge and Sinema and "Coolness"

on wednesday afternoon, i met up with twinkles and i met Perry M0k!!! i like his handshake, firm and compact, extended - confident, trusting, sincere - (i needa kick this habit of "decoding" someone's handshake.) He actually remembers that i had some scandal with someone that i think most of u readers had forgotten! "Major coolness." <--- Hahaha

after that we had a "knowing singapore" trip. we went to China-town (what an irony). =X trying to satisfy her cravings for "nuah nuah porridge". then we did a classic 误打误撞 and stumbled upon this ulu ulu dim sum place with 田鸡粥 and other porridges. so we had our super early dinner there.. and she proved that SOMETIMES, girls have a better sense of direction! (i hate china-town. they have nothing there but everything i don't want. ok people's park complex was better at least.)

then at night, we went to Sinema @ Old School, atop Mount Sophia.

Go check it out. its this really avant garde artsy ideal, set ironically in the old schoolground of what was once Methodist Girls School. Coolness. being there in the day and then again at night gives two entirely separate experiences, both as moving. (There's a really nice restaurant there as well - atmosphere at least. we didnt actually try the food, though the cocktails totally lack punch.)
there, we caught the re-run of Eric Khoo's 12 storeys. the theatre was more like an auditorium, with LOOOOONG sofas, makes you want to bring the cushions home. there were 6 patrons there last night, including the two of us. haha.. very very cosy, i must say. the atmosphere was just right for a movie of Breakfast at Tiffany's or Casablanca. Or even Titanic for that matter. But that place is actually exclusively for singapore films. oh wells, i'm sorry twinkles didn't like Eric Khoo's kind of movie. i'll look out for better showings in future ok?
didnt take much pictures last night though.

even the tickets are REALLY old school
