living on the edge

its a nice feeling to earn the extra bucks doing something u really enjoy doing. i'm giving skating lessons to keep up with my lifestyle. i dun earn much, jus 45 to 75 bucks - per session. but thats enough to take me through every weekend! i once read something really true in "shopaholic", in there, rebecca bloomwood (the female protagonist) realises that there is 2 ways to living comfortably. spend less, or earn more. before long she realises that she's putting in so much effort to spend less she could simply put that effort into earning more and on the larger picture she's getting MORE for the same efforts being put in! she started earning more and tada! she became the famous shopaholic heroine. i think she's really right about that. in the society that we live in, more often than not, our parents are more encouraging of us saving up, than going out and getting more. on the global scale, its undermining the economy on 2 counts. first, limiting spending hence crippling cash flow and causing microscopic deflation. second, not doing one's best in creating production and with the multiplier effect in consideration, causing a microscopic drop in GDP. you dun love your country if you're saving up. you dun love your parents if you're not saving up. in chinese we have a saying "zhong1 xiao4 liang3 nan2 quan2" (loosely translated to mean one cannot fulfil both piety and loyalty). this quagmire, however, can be broken simply by? making jus that little more money. there. i love my country. i love my parents. i love myself. and the cute little girl named thea (pronounced tee-yer) has a nice friendly skate instructor. Cool.
