its a mentality issue

yesterday i was talking to cong jing about how we're all defined by our mentality.

a person's mental strength largely reflects his mentality. A winner, will always, have a stronger control over his own mind. He can stay up longer without sleep, he can battle the sleep demon much better, when he knows the consequence of falling asleep at the wrong time makes him lose out. He can hold his alcohol better, because he is able to take charge, and ACT. that is why it took 15 cups of beer to drown each cadet.

i've seen living examples: ppl like jaime, who has got a really respectable mental resilience, she can hold her liquor like she's drinking teh-o, or her wine like she's drinking ribena. Jaime has always been a winner to me. i think she hates to lose. just ask her.

i respect people with a winner's mentality. i expect that everyone who strives to be a winner dun PERMIT oneself to always be late for every single appointment, even soccer sessions. traffic jam - granted; stomache - ok take 20 minutes; be at home at 8.15am when we're supposed to meet at 8? why doesn't one just not come and spare us the excuses.

i know i'm an ass when it comes to being diplomatic - as congjing testifies. but at the end of the day, its a really loser thing to say something like "i just came, i only played for 20 minutes. can we just play in the bad weather?". its loser enough just to even imply that. (if you know your idiotness allows you to be 30 minutes late, just make yourself reach 1 hour earlier! you still got 20 minutes for stomache and 10 for waxing your hair!) i never keep my comments to myself, i always say it. thats why i never make many good friends. i make few great friends (who i can tell you are equally asses in diplomacy.)

happy birthday tong huat. you're one of them, Ass.
